A belated Happy New Year to whoever is reading this haha.
I always get a planner to start the new year but I rarely use it throughout the year. It's not that I'm not organised though, I think it's the opposite. I get cranky when there are ink smudges, layers of correction tape which are inevitable when it comes to writing with pen on paper. The thing with most planners is that you can't tear the pages away. Once you tear a page away, a whole week might have disappeared from the planner. If something's ugly or irritating to you, you have no choice but to close an eye and let it stay that way.
But I still purchase a new planner at the end of each year because I like to look forward to good things. Holidays, sleepovers, dinners or even just a shopping trip with the girls. I tend to jot down my tasks for school or work on the phone because I need to set reminders. As for the good events that happen in the year, I like to write them down on the planner. It's always a nice surprise to forget about the trips you've planned ahead of time, then chancing upon them when you are just checking the planner. It takes some weariness away.
So I guess I've made two new year resolutions for the year of 2016.
Stop harping on things I can't change, don't let them stop the opportunities that await.
And look forward, with excitement and gratefulness, for whatever that comes my way.
